ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Punjab Police has announced elaborate security arrangements in Lahore and Rawalpindi for the upcoming matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. More than 12,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed to provide complete security to players, officials and cricket fans during the tournament.

According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, a detailed plan has been prepared to ensure security during the matches to be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Three matches will be played in Lahore on 22, 26 February and 5 March, while three matches will be held in Rawalpindi on 24, 25 and 27 February. More than 8,000 officers and employees will be deployed in Lahore, including 12 senior officers, 39 DSPs, 86 inspectors and 700 jawans. At the same time, more than 5,000 officers and employees will ensure security in Rawalpindi.

Highlights of the security plan
A total of 12,000+ police personnel have been deployed in every stadium across the country for the upcoming matches of ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This includes 18 senior officers, 54 DSPs and 135 inspectors. Apart from this, 200+ women officers including women police personnel will take care of tight security around the players’ accommodation and stadium during the matches.

IG Punjab’s statement on security and traffic arrangements
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that full security will be provided to national and foreign players as well as cricket fans. He also said that security will be strict around players’ residences, stadiums and routes and special plans have been made to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Under this plan, players and spectators will get an opportunity to enjoy cricket in a safe environment in Lahore and Rawalpindi. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will kick off with the opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi on February 19. The most awaited match will be between Pakistan and India in Dubai on February 23, which is considered to be the most high-voltage match of the tournament.
